Tugra, sign with the sultan's name and nickname, signature. Tugra, as a branch of calligraphy, was written by master calligraphers for centuries. In Turkish, a special sign containing the name of the sultan as a word has meanings such as the signature of the sultan. The original is tugra in Oghuz dialect and means the printed signature of the ruler. The first tugra used by Orhan Gazi consists of the expression Orhan bin Osman, the first of the tugras is dated 1324 and the other is 1348. A tughra of the First Sultan Osman Gazi has not been found anywhere until today. Therefore, 36 Ottoman sultans; but there are 35 Ottoman sultan's signatures. The part where the sultan himself and his father's names are written is called the throne, lectern or sere. The part that extends from here to the left and extends from bottom to top and consists of two intertwined curves is called beyze or starboard.
